My new picks this week: a micro ecommerce business (based on a reader’s request) and some AI project management software.

Maddy wrote in to request a smaller ecommerce business for sale - possibly built on Shopify (this is your sign that we listen to use feedback!). Maddy, this is for you!

ShopBooke is an ecommerce store built on Shopify. The basic premise of the store is selling personalized keychains via a commonly used drop-shipping model.

A few stats from the owner:

• Over $600 in sales over the last few months, with $100 in current MRR

• Growing organically (no ads yet, per the owner)

• 380 customers in their database, and 152 orders completed.

• Conversion rate approximately 2%

Current site appears to be domiciled in South Africa - a new owner would need to update the website and domiciled location, depending on the purchase availability.

As with most ecommerce & most especially relevant to dropshipping businesses - your marketing and audience acquisition tactics would be key to success.

A key sticking point here - I see some brand names on the site, it’s not clear if the current owner necessarily has permission to trade with those names. Definitely something to watch for to avoid trademark issues in the future.

2) Todobee: https://www.todobee.com 

I love the bright design for this startup’s website. It’s not for everyone’s taste, of course, but in a sea of mostly white websites, flashy ecommerce landing pages or “dark mode” everything, it’s a nice sunny spot on the internet.

I haven’t highlighted an AI project in a while. Todobee fixes that. Todobee is an AI-powered project management app - designed to be powerful but not overwhelming for it’s users. Speaking from experience, a lot of project management apps get bloated pretty quickly with so many features that it becomes difficult to use. (For my personal to-dos, I’ve switched to an extremely simple checkbox system. More on that in another issue).

Todobee is best suited for small and medium businesses, as well as individuals. As always, a solid marketing strategy is key for a pre-revenue product.
